From singing with the Statler Brothers to a stellar solo career, Jimmy Fortune’s tenor voice has graced some of Country music’s biggest stages and songs. He joined The Statler Brothers in 1982 and quickly lived up to his name, writing the group’s second No. 1 hit, “Elizabeth.” He followed it up with two more No. 1 hits, “My Only Love,” and “Too Much On My Heart.” He also wrote the top-10 hit “Forever,” and co-wrote “More Than A Name On A Wall,” another top-10 hit.
After the Statler Brothers retired in 2002, Jimmy launched his solo career, recording 4 albums between the years of 2002 to 2015. He was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2007 and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2008. He is also a CMA Award Winner for “Vocal Group of the Year” with the Statler Brothers.
Jimmy has toured and performed throughout the U.S. and Canadian Provinces as well as for The Nashville Network’s popular “The Statler Brothers Show” which aired for seven seasons. He has a voice that evokes nostalgia, transporting people back to simpler times.
